Indiana County Commissioners announced during their meeting on Wednesday that discussions will start soon about the county’s American Recovery Plan funds.
The county is anticipating $16.3 million in federal funding from the ARP, with half of that coming in the first payment. County Commissioner Robin Gorman said the first of two installments have been received by the commissioners and discussion will begin soon.
In other business, the commissioners approved filing a petition to postpone the 2021 upset tax sale to September 19th of 2022. The petition is being filed due to Covid-19 concerns and postal service issues regarding notices not able to be delivered to the proper recipients. The commissioners also approved the appointment of Heidi Malin of Indiana to the Children and Youth Services Citizens Advisory Board.
