Indiana County first responders had a busy day with several calls Thursday, including vehicle accidents and a flooded area.
Indiana County 9-1-1 reports a structure fire at 12:40 p.m. on Chambersville Hill Road in Rayne Township. Marion Center, Indiana, Clymer, Creekside and Plumville Fire Departments were dispatched along with the RIT team and Citizens Ambulance. Marion Center fire officials said in a post on the department’s Facebook page that a neighbor had called 911 saying a lot smoke was coming from the home. Crews were cancelled en route as the homeowner had it under control. The cause of the fire was a wood burner. No injuries were reported.
Marion Center firefighters were also called out at 4:29 p.m. for a vehicle accident on Route 403 North near Kesslar Road in East Mahoning Township. Officials said that when they got there, they found a tow truck that was towing two vehicles crashed into a utility pole. The driver was pinned for about 30 minutes until power crews arrived. The driver was eventually extricated and taken to IRMC for treatment.
Another vehicle accident was reported at the same time on Route 286 East in White Township. Indiana and Clymer fire departments were dispatched along with state police and Citizen’s Ambulance.
Saltsburg fire department was called for a pumping detail at 8:27 on Pauline Drive in Conemaugh Township. Later that hour, Clyde fire department was called out for a report of utility lines down on South Clay Pike Road in West Wheatfield Township.
