Those who are looking to buy an antlerless doe license for the upcoming hunting season will find that there are some changes.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission has announced a hike in the price of licenses to $6.97 for state residents and $26.97 for out-of-state residents, with checks written out to “County Treasurer”. The applications must be filled out properly and have a check for the exact amount, or they will be rejected and returned.
Hunters are allowed up to six antlerless doe licenses as long as licenses remain unclaimed in that wildlife management unit. The first mail-in purchase round will start on July 12 for residents and July 19 for non-residents. A second license can be applied for starting Aug. 2 and the third starting Aug. 16, provided licenses are still available. Hunters can hold up to six unfilled antlerless licenses at a time, and apply for additional licenses as they harvest deer and report them.
Over-the-counter sales will start Sept. 13.
