Two men will seek post-conviction relief today in Indiana County Court.
One hearing will be held today for 28-year-old Braheen Acres of Clearfield County. Back in early September of 2016, he was charged in connection with a break-in on Wayne Ave. on Sept. 4, where he sexually assaulted a woman sleeping on a couch there.
He later broke into an apartment a block away. He was found guilty on February 23rd of 2018 of three counts of burglary-overnight accommodations and criminal trespass, a single felony count of aggravated indecent assault, two misdemeanor counts of theft and summary counts of harassment. He was ordered to serve nine to 30 years in prison for the case, and he is currently serving his time at SCI-Rockview.
The hearing will be held this morning at 8:30.
The other hearing will be at 1:30 this afternoon for 38-year-old Chad Cahill. He was sentenced in two cases that dated back to January of 2019. In one case, he was found guilty of manufacture of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, operating a meth lab, possessing ephedrine and red phosphorous, illegal deposit or storing of chemical waste, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
In the other case, he pleaded guilty to manufacture with intent to deliver. He was sentenced to serve up to seven years in a state correctional facility.
Both hearings will be before Senior Judge William Martin.
