Earlier today, the Indiana Borough announced that a public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, July 20, with the main focus being the borough’s proposed Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application.
According to Borough officials, the purpose of the hearing is to discuss the CDBG program in general, the needs of Indiana Borough and the Indiana County “on behalf of” Indiana Borough’s performance under the previously funded CDBG Entitlement Program years.
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is set to allocate $201,286 in CDBG funds to Indiana Borough, which would be received by Indiana County on the borough’s behalf, and at least 70 percent of the available funding must be used for activities which benefit residents with low to middle incomes. Activities available for funding include water/sewer line replacement and improvement, housing rehabilitation and construction/reconstruction of recreational facilities.
The public can submit proposals and comments until 3 p.m. on July 20. Information on how to submit proposals can be found at indianaboro.com.
