State police say no one was hurt in a one-vehicle crash that happened on June 30th in Cherryhill Township. Troopers say 25-year-old Elizabeth Deitman of Clymer was driving north on Route 403 near Hillside Drive when she lost control of her car as she was navigating a left curve in the road. After going into the southbound lane, the car went off the roadway and down an embankment before striking a tree. The car was disabled and had to be towed. Dietman was charged with speeding.
State police investigated a case of identity theft out of Burrell Township that happened on June 20th. Troopers say on that day, an unemployment claim was filed using the information of an un-named 48-year-old New Florence man through his business, International Conveyor and Rubber. While no money was lost, police said there were no solvability factors found.
A Homer City man was scammed out of $863 from his unemployment account. State police are investigating the case that was reported to them on June 21st. The victim, identified only as a 48-year-old Homer City man, said an unknown person made a fraudulent withdrawal to acquire the funds.
