After a productive weekend in St. Louis, the Pirates’ bats were mostly silent yesterday in Colorado.

Shelton says Colin Moran, for now, will be listed as “day-to-day”.
A day after a perfect five-inning Major League debut, Max Kranick finds himself back in the minors. The Bucs optioned Kranick to Indianapolis yesterday so they could call up Cody Ponce for bullpen help. Kranick could be recalled again, but only after 15 days. Kranick’s 15-up/15-down performance on Sunday was a record-setter for an MLB debut. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the previous longest perfect outing in a debut since 1893 was a relief appearance by Max Scherzer in 2008, which he recorded 13-consecutive outs pitching for Arizona.
The Pirates will turn to right-hander Chase De Jong (0-2, 4.94 ERA) this evening. The Rockies will start German Marquez (6-6, 3.99 ERA). 8:15 airtime on WCCS.
