The Blairsville-Saltsburg School Board will meet for the third time this month tonight, and the focus of the meeting will be next year’s budget.
On the agenda for the meeting is the approval of the 2021-2022 spending plan, which contains no tax increases for residents of both Indiana and Westmoreland Counties.
The board will also focus on some things related to the move of students from Saltsburg Middle-High School to Blairsville Middle-High school, including hiring McNaughton Brothers to move items from the Saltsburg school to the Blairsville school at a cost of $16,543. Also on the agenda is an agreement for a new phone provider, the purchase of a new stadium sound system and internet access to the stadium, and the approval of the district’s technology plan from 2021 to 2025.
This will also mark the last meeting for the district under its current name. Starting on July 1st, the first day of the new fiscal year, the district will be known as the River Valley School District. The meeting starts at 7:00 and will be held virtually.
