The average cost of a gallon of gas in Indiana County and across Pennsylvania continues to climb as the summer driving season continues.
As of this morning, the average cost of a gallon of gas in Pennsylvania is $3.19 a gallon, which is up two cents from last week at this time and up three cents from last month. Last year at this time, gas prices were 76 cents cheaper, at $2.43 a gallon. This was due to reduced demand as people were not driving as much due to Covid-19 travel restrictions.
Triple A reports that Indiana County’s gas price average this morning is $3.25 a gallon, which ties with Cambria County. The lowest gas price average in the region is Clearfield County at $3.20 a gallon. Armstrong County is next highest at $3.23 a gallon, while Westmoreland County is at $3.24 a gallon. The highest average is in Jefferson County at $3.26 a gallon.
The lowest gas price average in the state is in Perry County with $3.09 a gallon. Fayette and Pike counties have the highest average in the state at $3.26 a gallon.
Gas prices in Indiana, Homer City, Shelocta, Blairsville and Clymer this morning are all at $3.25 a gallon, according to Gasbuddy.com
