The candidates in the 2022 race for governor are hitting the campaign trail, with a Republican hopeful stopping in Indiana County today.
Jason Richey, a Pittsburgh native seeking the Republican nomination in next year’s election, met with business leaders at Diamond Pharmacy this afternoon with an emphasis on strengthening not only the business structure across the state, but the population outlook as well.
Richey talked about Pennsylvania possibly joining the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI). He said if he were elected, he would get out of RGGI immediately and strengthen energy efforts across the state.
He said that Pennsylvania has the potential to be a powerhouse in the energy sector and that he would make sure that happens.
Richey also talked about schools across the state consolidating and opening up alternative avenues for students to further advance their education. He said that, while no schools would be forced to merge, it would benefit students and families by creating more opportunities instead of focusing on going to college.
