The Indiana School Board will meet tonight and will discuss plans for the upcoming school year, including how many days a week students will be allowed to attend classes in person.
On the agenda for tonight’s meeting is a motion for the administration to make plans to be open five days a week for the 2021-2022 school year, and work to redesign some courses in the IDEAL program to offer a select few core synchronous courses. Over the last year, Indiana worked on modified schedules due to the Covid-19 pandemic, with students attending two to four days out of the week in person and the remaining days being used for virtual learning from home.
The board will also look to approve multiple extra duty/extra pay assignments for the next school year. Those assignments range from drama and music programs to the fall and winter sports coaching positions. The board will also look to authorize an increase in the funding available for the 2021 summer camp for elementary students by another $50,000 due to an increase in enrollment. The funding will come from the district’s ESSER funds.
Tonight’s meeting will be held at the administration room at the East Pike Campus. A virtual option remains in place for those who wish to use that mode to attend meetings. The meeting will start at 7:00.
