The Pirates’ frustration at the hands of the Los Angeles Dodgers continued yesterday at PNC Park.
Greg Brown has the story of the Bucs’ 13th straight loss to LA.
After another poor outing by Mitch Keller, manager Derek Shelton said the team still thinks he can work out his problems at the major league level, so they have not considered sending him to Indianapolis to work on his control.
Shelton says he appreciates the quietly impressive season that Bryan Reynolds is having, as he clubbed his sixth homer in the last 13 games yesterday.
The Pirates yesterday put reliever Luis Oviedo on the injured list with a left quad strain, retroactive to June 7th. They activated pitcher Trevor Cahill, who has been out since May 19th with a left calf injury. The team has not said yet whether Cahill will rejoin the starting rotation or will work out of the bullpen.
TONIGHT: The Pirates visit the Milwaukee Brewers (7:45 airtime on WCCS), with Chase De Jong (0-0, 5.40 ERA) making his third start for the Bucs against Brandon Woodruff (4-2, 1.42 ERA).
