Gas price averages across Pennsylvania and in Indiana County have gone up as the summer driving season gets underway.
The average cost of a gallon of gas in Pennsylvania is now $3.17 a gallon, up two cents from last week and 11 cents from last month. During the pandemic last year, gas prices were at $2.25 a gallon. The national average went relatively unchanged, as it holds at $3.05 a gallon. The reason why gas prices have remained flat across the nation is because demand dropped by nearly half a million barrels a day and total domestic gas stocks went up by 1.5 million barrels last week.
Indiana County’s gas price average is at $3.22 a gallon as of this morning. Clearfield County has the lowest average in the region at $3.20 a gallon. Cambria and Armstrong Counties are tied with Indiana County at $3.22 a gallon. Both Jefferson and Westmoreland Counties have $3.23 a gallon averages.
The lowest gas price average in the state is $3.07 a gallon in Perry County. Greene County now has the highest average with $3.26 a gallon.
Gas prices in Indiana Borough, White Township, Center Township, Blairsville area and Clymer are all reporting gas prices at $3.25 a gallon this morning.
