Registration is open now for the Ben Franklin 2021 Big Idea Contest.
The contest is a take on the show “Shark Tank”, where emerging entrepreneurs and small manufacturers will be given the opportunity to pitch their ideas to judges in an effort to win $50,000 in grant money to make their big idea a reality. For this version of the contest, contest organizers are looking for tech innovators who are developing new products, processes or software applications. The contest is also touting the experience of making the pitch, along with the training offered and contacts made as good reasons for entering the contest.
The contest, which is held across several regions in the Ben Franklin Technology Partners service area, which makes up 32 counties, has awarded $2 million over the contest’s history. Last year, Sarah Boyer and Antria of Indiana County won with their pitch to develop stem cell therapies to provide patients with personalized care to help with wound care.
The deadline to apply is August 23rd. Those interested can apply online at the website below.
