Marion Center’s softball team survived a scare yesterday in the District 6 playoffs, but the baseball team’s season came to a close.

The Blairsville softball team ran into trouble yesterday as its season ended with a loss to Penns Valley.

Marion Center will play host to Penns Valley in a Double-A softball semifinal game tomorrow. Also tomorrow, Saltsburg finally gets back to action, as the Trojans play a Class A baseball semifinal game against Moshannon Valley. The Trojans last played last Thursday when they beat Penns Manor, 8-7.
In another Class AA softball game, No. 7 United lost to No. 2 Mount Union, 10-0.
In Class A softball action, seventh-seeded Homer-Center staged a late comeback of three runs in the seventh inning but came up just short of upsetting No. 2 Portage. The Mustangs took away a 6-5 victory. No. 5 Glendale eliminated No. 4 Penns Manor by a 12-2 score.
