At their meeting Tuesday night, members of the Blairsville-Saltsburg School Board unanimously approved the proposed district budget for the 2021-22 school year.
The budget will be split almost evenly between revenue and expenses with each garnering a little over $34 million. While the budget was adopted, board president Rick Harper said the district is still $200,000 over the current budget, but the district can easily flatten it out prior to its deadline later in June.
The budget’s final adoption will come during the board’s regular voting meeting on June 29th.
In other business, the board approved the proposed River Valley staffing plan for the 2021-22 school year. Harper said that things are starting to take shape in the plan, but there are still lots of things to discuss which will be coming out soon.
The board also amended Marissa Falcone as the district’s new varsity cheerleading coach following a six-to-three vote, and they also discussed general topics of the proposed STEAM Academy.
