Today marks the 113th birthday of Jimmy Stewart, the Indiana native who went on to have a legendary movie career, and the museum that bears his name will have a small celebration today.
Traditionally, the museum has celebrated Jimmy’s birthday with a small ceremony in the museum and some activities, including a car cruise in the past, but because of the pandemic restrictions, museum president and executive director Janie McKirgan said they want to the celebration this year to be a smaller one.
That small take-out treat will be an individually wrapped cookie shaped like Harvey the rabbit from the film of the same name. The museum is open from 10-4 today.
