Marion Center School Board last night discussed the 2021-2022 budget, and there may be no tax increases for district residents in the upcoming year.
While the numbers aren’t finalized yet, district business manager Richard Martini expects the budget to come to about $27 million, but Martini says that a few pieces of information are still needed from the state to get a better picture on the numbers.
Martini added that the state formulas could change, and they could change how they will distribute funds, and that could change things for the budget.
As far as the district’s taxes go, Martini is anticipating no tax increase thanks to the district’s collections not dropping as far due to covid-19.
The budget is up for preliminary approval on May 24th, with final approval expected in June.
