A campaign aimed at enforcing car safety for children gets underway today.
The Pennsylvania State Police announced that the “Click It or Ticket” campaign will run until June 6, and its focus is geared towards educating parents on car seat safety. Public Information Officer Cliff Greenfield said that car seat safety is critical in case of a crash, but there are ways for parents to monitor their child’s seat.
According to a statewide press release, state police say two fitting sites will be available in Indiana County in the coming weeks. One will be held at the Indiana Fire Association on May 24 and another will be held the following day at the Pennsylvania State Police barracks in Indiana. Both events will begin at 2 p.m. and will run until 7:30 p.m. They are also being offered every third Wednesday of the month, and Greenfield said they are taught like classes.
Anyone interested in setting up an appointment to get their children’s car seats inspected can call state police in Indiana at (724) 357-1960 and ask for Trooper Greenfield.
