The United School Board met on Tuesday night and approved authorizing a law firm to begin putting together paperwork for bond refunding.
The board approved the law firm of Dinsmore and Shohl of Pittsburgh to prepare legal documentation concerning the refunding of the district’s Series 2016 A and B general obligation bonds. District Superintendent Barbara Parkins talked about the savings the district could realize by refinancing the bond.
The district will not pay any money for the law firm’s services unless bond refunding is completed.
In other business, the board approved the resignation of Dr. Nicole Lysick as school physician, and hired Dr. Matthew Klain as the new district physician for the next school year. The board also hired longtime custodian Gary Hollobaugh as the new Maitnenance Supervisor at a salary of $48,000, pending the receipt of all satisfactory documents as required by law.
