After downing first-seeded Charleston at the NCAA Atlantic Regional match today, IUP’s women’s tennis team have clinched a spot in the NCAA Championships scheduled for next week.
The duos of Katy Graydon/Karolin Kirchtag and Laura Dunarova/Joanna Stralka won their doubles matchups by scores of 6-1 and 6-3. Idoia Huerta and Lydia Vlachou were leading 5-4 in their doubles match, but it would go unfinished.
Graydon, Dunarova and Vlachou each won in single’s play to clinch a 4-2 match score.
The NCAA Championships are slated for May 19 in Arizona.
