The Indiana Area School Board is poised to approve a tentative budget for the new fiscal year tonight. The $57.6 million plan holds the line on property taxes. The board also will vote on reappointing Jared Cronauer for a one-year term as district treasurer.
Among other actions expected at tonight’s meeting are a vote to hire a new supervisor of buildings and grounds in the district; proceed with designing a new entranceway for the Eisenhower Elementary School; the acceptance of donations from the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association and the faculty unions at United and Homer-Center for the Eisenhower teachers in the wake of the fire that closed the school for the rest of the academic year; and a list of 16 employees for the Summer Learning Camp program.
Indiana’s board meeting will be held at the Junior High Large Group instruction room tonight at 7:00 PM, and it will also be made available virtually through the district’s website at www.iasd.cc
The Purchase Line school board meets tonight as well, and their budget for next year is on the agenda for approval tonight. No details have been provided on the budget itself. There are several service agreements up for approval along with some personnel decisions. The board is also looking to approve submitting applications for 14 state and federal grant programs, including ones for rural and low income schools, Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts, CARES Act, and Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief or ESSER grants.
The Purchase Line School Board meeting will also be held online tonight. A link to that meeting is on their website, www.plsd.k12.pa.us
