The IUP women’s tennis team will carry the number-two seed in the Atlantic Region into the NCAA Divison II Championships.
IUP earned its way into the 36-team championship tournament by winning the PSAC championship. The Atlantic Region bracket will be hosted in West Virginia by the university of Charleston Sunday through Tuesday.
13-3 IUP gets a bye into the second round, where they will face #3 Slippery Rock on Monday afternoon. The Crimson Hawks beat Slippery Rock 4-1 at the PSAC tournament last week, the second time they’ve beaten them this year.
LACROSSE
Six IUP women’s lacrosse players received post-season honors yesterday from the PSAC. Midfielder Kayte Zeiler, defender Shannon Reape, and attacker Jordan Kulp were named All PSAC Western Division first teamers. Freshmen Chantal Jiminez, Sarah Reustle, and Hannah Sharkey were named to the second team.
