With MaxPreps listing Marion Center softball as No. 50 in the state yesterday, Stingers head coach Ed Peterson had high praises for his team’s accomplishments.
In an exclusive interview, Peterson detailed what went into his team’s success. He mentioned that, along with senior leadership, the younger core of players have really stepped in to help the Stingers win.
Peterson said that expectations were high last year, as he said he had a team that had a chance to possibly make the district and even state playoffs. But with COVID-19 shutting down the season, it prevented the Stingers from making that push.
He said that while he was unsure of what to expect from this year’s team, they have exceeded all expectations.
Peterson also talked about how the pandemic affected his team, but he said that they took the extra time to prove to other teams that they were still as strong as they were prior to the shutdown.
