Four fire departments were called out for a fire at a saw mill Sunday afternoon in Northern Indiana County. Indiana County 911 reported the fire at 12:53 PM. Initial reports say that a shed was fully involved at a sawmill at the intersection of South Elkin and Banks Road between Plumville and Smicksburg. Plumville, Marion Center, Dayton and Rural Valley fire departments were dispatched at the time along with Citizens’ Ambulance. Creekside, Perry Township and Clymer Fire Departments were called in for stand by detail.
This was part of a busy day of calls of different types for Indiana County Emergency Responders. The busy day started at 9:48 AM with a vehicle accident reported on West Pike Road in White Township by Indiana County 911. Indiana Fire Association, state police and Citizens’ Ambulance Service were called out at that time. Police have not released a report on that incident.
The second vehicle accident of the day was reported at 2:11 in the afternoon on Maruca Road in Young Township. Coal Run and Iselin fire departments were called out at that time, along with state police and Citizens’ Ambulance.
Rossiter Fire department was called out for a gas leak on Bubba Lane in Canoe Township at 4:25 PM. Plumville Fire Department and Citizens’ Ambulance were called out at 4:46 PM for vehicle accident at Silver Canoe Campground Road in Rural Valley.
Commodore and Clymer Fire departments were called out for landing zone details in Green Township and Clymer Borough respectively at 7:51 and 7:55.
The day ended at 11:37 PM as Indiana Fire Fighters were called out for an automatic fire alarm activation on Oakland Avenue in White Township.
