After getting the pulse of the community on what the new name and possible mascot will be for the reorganized Blairsville-Saltsburg School District, the district administration is asking students to weigh in on the issue.
The district is asking students in Kindergarten through 12th grade to submit their ideas for school colors and to submit their ideas for a new mascot. They are asking that the colors red and orange not be used in the color combination suggestions. The due date for these suggestions is May 7th and the submissions can be made through the Google form survey on the district’s website, www.b-ssd.org. The top seven color combinations and mascots will be put on an athletic uniform image and emailed to each student, and it will also be available on the district website. A vote will be taken in homeroom via a Google forms survey on May 14th for the final color and mascot choice.
This came on the heels of a survey asking for a new mascot and a new name for the district that went out to the community through the district website. No word yet on the results of that survey.
