The Pennsylvania Game Commission is co-hosting several virtual meetings to highlight the importance of Chronic Waste Disease (CWD), a fatal disease found in deer and elk.
In conjunction with the National Deer Association and the Wildlife Futures Program, the Game Commission is planning six informational sessions beginning on Wednesday with each meeting tailored to different regions around the state. During these meetings, the Game Commission will explain what CWD is and the CWD-driven changes within each region.
The southwest region – which covers Indiana, Westmoreland, Armstrong and other neighboring counties – will be the first meeting held. It is scheduled for Wednesday, May 5 from 7 to 9 p.m. over Zoom.
The public is invited to attend, as a question-and-answer session will follow each meeting. A link to register for the meeting can be found here.
Those interested in attending other informational sessions can find links to register for those meetings here.
