UPDATE AS OF 7:30 a.m.:
Route 119 Northbound into Lucerne Road has reopened for traffic. It had been closed due to dangling power lines and wreckage cleanup.
Penelec detailed power outages caused by the crash in Indiana County:
- Brush Valley – less than 5 customers affected out of 317 customers served.
- Center Township – 74 customers affected out of 1,662 customers served.
- Homer City – 342 customers affected out of 1,131 customers served.
ORIGINAL REPORT:
Minor injuries were reported in a crash that happened early this morning in Center Township.
Indiana County 9-1-1 reports that fire crews from Homer City, along with Citizens Ambulance and Pennsylvania State Police, were dispatched to a crash shortly before 4:15 a.m. that happened in front of Hankster’s between Homer City and Lucerne Mines.
Coral-Graceton crews were called in to assist in traffic control shortly after 4:30 a.m.
Homer City Fire Chief Terry Gardner detailed what caused the crash.
Penelec reports that a power outage was reported in Homer City due to the crash. Reports show around approximately 419 customers have been affected and that an estimated restoration time is 7:30 a.m.
In addition, the roadway from Route 119 Northbound to Lucerne Road is closed while cleanup crews tend to downed power lines.
