The Speaker of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives has tested positive for coronavirus.
Speaker Bryan Cutler announced earlier this week that he had been exposed to coronavirus and would remain away from the state Capitol for the time being. Then came news on Thursday of the positive test results. Cutler, a Lancaster County Republican, released a statement saying he is currently experiencing mild symptoms, and will work from home as his quarantine continues. He adds that his exposure and positive test do not fall within time frames of being inside the Capitol, so there is no risk to colleagues, fellow House members or staff.
A spokesman says a temporary Speaker will be appointed when the House reconvenes on Monday.
