The Indiana County YMCA and IUP’s Exercise Science Program are holding a fitness competition for Indiana County where teams can participate with everyday items from Home.
According to a news release, the Fittest QuaranTeam challenge is meant to bring together the relationships of family and exercise, and to create a sense of normalcy for the family. The competition will consist of an obstacle course that families can create at home using every day household items. Teams of two to five members will complete each of ten stations that focus on a different fitness component. Teams will record videos of themselves completing each obstacle, and the team with the best time will be awarded a family pass to Mack Park pool.
The event is being done in collaboration with the 2021 Indiana County Walking Decathalon. The competition is open to the entire Indiana County area and more details can be found on the Y’s website, the Indiana County Office of Planning and Development website, and the Walking Decathalon’s Facebook page.
