A post-conviction relief motion hearing is set for today for a Clearfield County man serving time on charges related to an assault and burglary incident in Indiana back in 2016.
The hearing will be for 28-year-old Braheen Acres, who was found guilty in a trial of 2017 of three felony counts of burglary and criminal trespass, along with a single felony count of aggravated indecent assault, two misdemeanor counts of theft and summary counts of harassment connected with a break-in in the 800 block of Wayne Avenue on September 4th of 2016. He sexually assaulted a woman who was sleeping on a couch there, and he later broke into an apartment a block away.
Acres was gone by the time police got there, but they noticed another open door at another residence and found him there. Acres tried to escape through a second story window, but could not get off the roof.
Acres was sentenced in 2018 to serve nine to 30 years in prison for the case, and is serving his time at SCI-Rockview.
The hearing will be held in front of Senior Judge William Martin at 8:30 this morning.
