Some of the items on the planned White Township Supervisors meeting agenda for today’s meeting were discussed and approved at a meeting on March 24th.
Several items from the previous meeting are being ratified during today’s meeting due to the fact that the township had problems streaming the meeting online. Internet service to the township building went out prior to the start of the meeting, but the supervisors went on with the meeting anyway.
Members of the group Friends of White’s Woods claimed that this was a violation of the Sunshine Act and demanded another meeting to officially approve any actions taken during the March 24th meeting, and requested that a recording of the meeting be posted to the White Township website. The recording was posted to the website a few days after the meeting, and today, the township will ratify the items approved during the March 24th meeting, including a motion to send a letter of support to PennDOT to rename a bridge in honor of Vietnam veteran Timothy Rice and posting meeting attendance information on the website.
Speaking of attendance, this will be the first White Township meeting in over a year that will be open to the public, but social distancing guidelines will continue to be followed at the township building, and seating for the public will be limited to five people on a first come-first served basis. The meetings will continue to be streamed on the internet, and the login information can be found at www.whitetownship.org
