BASEBALL
HOMER-CENTER – 4, PURCHASE LINE – 3
With a 3-3 tie heading into the bottom of the seventh inning, Homer-Center drove in the winning run to break the tie and end the ballgame.
Michael Krejocic contributed to the Wildcats win, picking up the win in relief and by going 3-for-4 at the plate with a triple in the game. Krejocic came in to get the final two outs in the top of the seventh, and got both of them on strikeouts.
Evann Keslar drove in another RBI for the Wildcats, while Cody Housholder and Brock Houser picked up hits in the game.
For Purchase Line, Austin Chambers collected two hits and pitched an inning in relief.
PENNS MANOR – 12, SALTSBURG – 5
The Comets collected 21 hits in Wednesday’s win over the Trojans. They also pieced together five runs in the middle innings and capped off the win with a four-run sixth.
Braden Staats and Brady Yard had two hits each for Saltsburg. Yard also drove in 3 of the Trojans 4 runs.
No individual stats have been reported for Penns Manor.
WEST SHAMOKIN – 7, UNITED – 2
Ezeck Olinger pitched 6 innings striking out 6, while walking 5 and allowing 1 run to help the 4-1 West Shamokin Wolves defeat the 4-2 United Lions.
Nick Buffone and Beau Schwartz each collected two RBIs for West Shamokin. Logan Cogley hit a triple while driving in a pair of runs.
Jon Henry, Hunter Cameron, and Bradley Felix all had a hit for United. Wade Plowman and Joe Marino each tallied an RBI.
SOFTBALL
BLAIRSVILLE – 10, NORTHERN CAMBRIA – 8
Hannah Artley’s two-run homer in the bottom of the second inning got the lead for Blairsville. The Bobcats would get two more runs in the third inning on RBI singles from Madison Stutzman and Artley. In the top of the fourth inning, the Colts capitalized on a Bobcats error and a Colts home run would make it a game down the stretch. The Colts tied it in the top of the sixth on some of their own two-out lightning. Hannah Foust hit a home run, giving the Cats the final two runs of the night. In the top of the seventh, after a Bobcats error, the Colts went silent at the plate with two fly ball outs and loud strike out ending the game.
