After finishing with a final score of 297 on Saturday, the IUP men’s golf team won the 2020-21 PSAC Championship on Saturday afternoon. IUP finished 8 strokes ahead of second-place Mercyhurst and third-place Shepherd, who both finished with a score of 305.
Individually, Nicholas Ward finished 4th overall with a final score of 149. Ward finished with 77 strokes on Friday, earning him a spot at No. 10, but improved with a 72 score on Saturday. The improvement earned him a 6-spot jump in the standings.
Shaun Fedor and Jeremy Eckenrode tied for 5th place after finishing with a score of 151. Jack Buccigross and Richie Kline tied for 9th place with UPJ’s Mitch Jeffe, after all three finished with a score of 153.
This is the third PSAC title for IUP in four years. They last clinched it in 2019 and also in 2017. Up next will be the Cecil Spadafora Invitational, which IUP will be hosting on April 19 and 20.
