According to reports from his family, long-time usher for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Phil Coyne, died at the age of 102 on Friday.
Coyne joined the organization at age 18 and worked as an usher for 81 years before retiring in 2018. The Pirates recognized Coyne’s tenure by awarding him a plaque in 2018, after he oversaw Sections 26 and 27 at PNC Park since the stadium’s inception in 2001.
According to KDKA, his uniform and badge number were donated to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. He would have been 103 on April 27.
