A structure fire was also reported in East Wheatfield Township on Thursday night, but that fire resulted in minimal damage.
Indiana County 911 said the call went out at 5:48 PM for the fire at 286 West Philadelphia Street Extension. Armagh-East Wheatfield, Clyde, Brush Valley and New Florence fire departments were dispatched, along with Citizens Ambulance. Armagh-East Wheatfield Fire Chief Tom Fry said the fire was electrical in nature due to a low watt LED light on the building’s exterior.
Damage was limited to the exterior wall and some siding and wiring, as the homeowner was able to knock the fire down with a fire extinguisher before fire crews got there.
