As covid-19 stubbornly holds on across the state and the nation, Indiana County’s schools are reporting new cases. Indiana Area, Penns Manor, and Purchase Line all reported cases yesterday.
Indiana Area Superintendent Michael Vuckovich says a Senior High student tested positive, and that student was in school during the infectious period. Nine additional staff and students are quarantining as a result. The district currently shows that case, single cases at East Pike and Horace Mann elementary schools, and two cases at Ben Franklin Elementary.
A day after reporting that a student at its high school tested positive, Penns Manor reported another case yesterday, again involving a student at the high school. Both of those students were last in school on April 1st.
Purchase Line Superintendent Shawn Ford says a student at the high school is confirmed positive and two students at the elementary school are probable positives. The district has determined that no other students or staff have been exposed.
