The Indiana Regional Medical Center yesterday expanded the availability of covid-19 vaccine appointment, permitting sign-up for those who fall in the category of 1B, as defined by the state Department of Health. IRMC also announced that those in Phase 1C will be able to sign up starting next Monday, April 12th. Then on the 19th, everyone aged 16 and older will be able to sign up.
In an appearance on Indiana In the Morning on WCCS, IRMC Chief Medical Officer Dr. Richard Neff said they are getting about 1,100 doses of vaccine each week, and he also announced that starting tomorrow, a second vaccination site will open up at IRMC at Chestnut Ridge, the facility located on Old Route 119 outside of Blairsville.
Neff said signing up for a vaccine is simple.
Neff says IRMC continues to admit patients with covid-19. There were 12 patients as of yesterday. He says there have been no covid cases among those who have been vaccinated.
IRMC says that those signing up for the first time will need to designate that it is your first dose of the two that you will need, and you may also schedule your second dose, which will be approximately 28 days later.
