In other news, two Pennsylvania Senators from Allegheny County are lobbying for the 2021 MLB All-Star game to come to Pittsburgh after Major League Baseball decided to move it out of Atlanta.
Reports say that MLB decided to pull the July 13th game out of Truist Park in Atlanta in reaction to Georgia’s new voter regulations that MLB Commissioner Robert Manfred called restrictive. You can find the news release from Manfred by clicking here.
While the league has not released a new site, PA Senators Jay Costa and Wayne Fontana wrote a letter to Manfred on Friday asking the league to move the game and the draft to PNC Park. Pittsburgh has played host to the All-Star game five times, with the last time being in 2006.
