From IUP Sports Information
The IUP baseball team committed too many errors and didn’t respond well enough to a few big innings by Cal U as the Crimson Hawks were swept by the Vulcans in a doubleheader Friday afternoon at Wild Things Park. IUP fell by scores of 11-3 and 14-4.
The IUP defense committed six combined errors on the afternoon, which led to seven unearned runs spread across the two games. Nearly all of Cal U’s 25 runs came in three innings, scoring six in the first inning of game one, along with seven in the fourth and six in the sixth inning of game two. IUP pitchers also walked 14 and hit two more batters during the doubleheader.
The Crimson Hawks drop to 1-13 overall and 0-6 in PSAC West play with the losses. The Vulcans are 12-6 and 3-3.
