A federal agency has proclaimed that Indiana County is one of a handful of communities that has “effectively end veteran homelessness.”
The U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness released their report “Communities That Have Ended Homelessness” for the 2021 year, and in that report, Indiana County was named as one of 81 communities and three states that have ended the homeless veterans problem. The council’s interim executive director Anthony Luck talked about what qualified Indiana County for this announcement.
The council’s goal is to end homelessness, meaning that every community has a comprehensive response plan ready to make sure that homelessness is either prevented or is a rare, brief one-time experience.
