UPDATE AT 8 P.M.: As an update to the release issued earlier today, the incident in Creekside Borough has been resolved and there is no threat to the community.
Additional information will be released as appropriate.
PREVIOUSLY REPORTED: Troopers are currently attempting to make contact with a known adult individual at a residence along Indiana Road north of SR 954 in Creekside Borough, Indiana County. Residents in the immediate vicinity are requested to stay indoors and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
Earlier today, Troop A, Indiana Patrol Unit members were requested to a conduct a welfare check of the known adult individual. Troopers then gathered information, which indicated that the person was armed and barricaded alone inside the residence. Attempts to contact this person have thus far been unsuccessful.
Due to these circumstances, the Pennsylvania State Police Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) was requested to respond and assist. The Creekside Volunteer Fire Department is also assisting with traffic control.
