Earlier today, the Indiana County Chamber of Commerce hosted the first in a series of webinars focusing on various aspects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The segment for this week focused specifically on vaccines and the efforts in Indiana County to distribute them. Guests included IRMC Chief Medical Officer Dr. Richard Neff, Indiana County Emergency Management Director Tom Stutzman and John Pastorek, the director of Mainline Pharmacy.
Topics included making sure that people were notified about available vaccinations. Stutzman said that the county was very reliant on using the internet to notify people about that, and people who don’t have internet access have been able to get help in scheduling those appointments.
Dr. Neff encouraged people to be patient as vaccine supplies increase.
Pastorek added that he has also seen the wait list at his pharmacy decrease rapidly as well.
If you missed the webinar, it is available on the Chamber of Commerce’s Facebook page and shared on the WCCS Facebook page.
Next week’s topic is on how education has been impacted by the pandemic and scheduled guests include IUP President Dr. Michael Drsicoll, Tuesday Stanley from Westmoreland County Community College, Indiana School District Superintendent Mike Vuckovich and others. That webinar will be held at 10 AM and you will be able to hear it on WCCS AM 1160 and 101.1 FM, as well as watch it on the WCCS Facebook page.
