The Steelers signed two free agents on Saturday after losing multiple players in the first week of free agency.
The first signing was Miles Killebrew who played for the Detroit Lions as a linebacker and was considered the “ace” of the special teams unit. The contract length is for one-year according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport. The former fourth-round pick out of Southern Utah recorded 101 total career tackles since joining the Lions in 2016, and last season he played in 15 games with 10 solo tackles.
His best season came in 2017 when he recorded a career-high 37 tackles and returned a pass for a pick-six.
The second signing was Joe Haeg, an offensive lineman who played in 12 games as a member of the Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Haeg was a fifth-round draft pick by the Indianapolis Colts in 2016, where he spent four seasons with the Colts before signing with Tampa.
The signing was confirmed by NFL Network analyst Mike Garafolo, however details surrounding his signing are not available yet.
