The first day of round one action at the NCAA Tournament is in the books. Oral Roberts is celebrating the biggest upset of the day. The 15th-seeded Golden Eagles stunned second-seeded Ohio State 75-72 in overtime. Oral Roberts is just the ninth 15-seed all-time to win a first round game. The 13th-seeded North Texas Mean Green are also advancing after knocking off fourth-seeded Purdue 78-69 in OT. Number-12 seed Oregon State rolled to a 70-56 win over fifth-seeded Tennessee. Other upsets included Rutgers over Clemson 60-56 in a 10-7 matchup. Sixth-seeded San Diego State fell short to 11th-seeded Syracuse 78-62.
Round one continues Saturday with 16 more games on the schedule. Top seeds Michigan and Gonzaga will both take the court. The Wolverines will square off with Texas Southern, while the Bulldogs face Norfolk State. Elsewhere, fifth-seeded Colorado clashes with 12th-seeded Georgetown, LSU battles St. Bonaventure in an eight-nine matchup, while seventh-seeded UConn meets 10th-seeded Maryland. Oklahoma and Missouri will also square off, while BYU goes up against UCLA. Seventh-seeded Oregon will face number-10 seed VCU in the final game of the night.
