Freshman Luke Mikesell etched his name in the IUP record books this morning at the NCAA swimming championships.
During the Men’s 100 Freestyle preliminaries, Mikesell finished with a time of 45.08, breaking a 16-year school record. The record was previously held by 2006 graduate Bartosz Ostrowski who clinched the record during the 2005-06 regular season with a time of 45:15.
Claire Mikesell also had a strong start to the final day of the NCAA tournament as she placed fourth in the Women’s 200-yard Breaststroke preliminaries, earning her a spot in the finals later tonight.
