Covid-19 vaccines continue to be distributed in Indiana County, with many going through IRMC’s vaccination clinics at the KCAC.
Thursday’s clinic was full with 1050 scheduled first dose vaccinations, and another 1050 first doses will be available for another clinic next Thursday. The scheduling for that clinic is now underway and people can register at www.irmc.org/vaccine. IRMC President Steve Wolfe said that patients who are 55 or older who meet the State’s phase 1-A criteria will now be scheduled.
Wolfe added that the Department of Health is requiring the hospital to begin scheduling ahead of vaccine delivery commitments in an effort to meet the state’s goal of opening shots up to all adults by May. The hospital plans to start scheduling patients for future clinics in April and May in the next few weeks.
As of yesterday, the PA Department of Health reports that 8,645 people have received their full vaccinations, either through the two-shot vaccines from Pfizer or Moderna or the single Johnson and Johnson vaccine. Another 6,320 people have received at least their first dose of Covid-19 vaccine. Out of the 14,965 people who have been vaccinated in Indiana County 12,561 people have received vaccines from IRMC.
As of Friday, 5,233 cases of Covid-19 have been reported in Indiana County, with 160 deaths reported.
