The Pirates led 1-0 in the fourth inning before Detroit went on to score three unanswered runs to beat them, 3-1, on Saturday.
Kevin Newman and Phillip Evans collected two hits each, while Colin Moran drove in the only Pirates run on the afternoon. Tyler Anderson bounced back after a rocky start last time out, limiting the Tigers to just two hits and one earned run while striking out four in five innings pitched.
Pittsburgh falls to 8-10-1 on the spring and they look to snap a three-game losing streak on Sunday against the Boston Red Sox. First pitch is set for 1:05 p.m.
