State police have announced that two people were taken into custody on theft charges thanks to the public providing them with tips.
Troopers had reported that a thief went into the White Township Walmart on Oakland Avenue on March 6th and stole a Bissell Rug Scrubber. Public Information Officer Trooper Cliff Greenfield announced on Wednesday that thanks to the news media distributing the information on the thief, along with the thief’s picture and a picture of a vehicle involved in the incident, the public provided police with information that lead to the apprehension of 37-year-old Bradley R. Smith of Indiana. He is charged with retail theft. Police also filed the same charge against a second suspect, 35-year-old Shierlee A. Webster of Indiana.
Charges were filed before District Judge Susanne Steffee.
