The Penguins were traveling yesterday so there was little injury news after Tuesday’s bruising game against the Boston Bruins. That meant no information on the lower body injury suffered by Evgeni Malkin, nor on Teddy Bleuger’s upper body injury, which coach Mike Sullivan said would be a long-term loss. Bleuger did not suit up Tuesday night.
The Pens are already playing without injured wingers Jason Zucker and Jared McCann and defenseman John Marino.
They meet the Devils in New Jersey tonight. It’s the first meeting of the season between the two teams. They’ll play tonight, then on Saturday afternoon in Jersey, then at PPG Paints Arena on Sunday afternoon.
